I mean, what was the mission for?

To make sure some guy who was supposed to reveal big advances in AI technology actually went through with it.

[ It's an incredibly simplified version, but that's the basic idea. ]

Which we, well, did. It just took a really long time.

[She blinks.]

Why wouldn't he have gone through with it?

Because he'd been in an accident. That's why most of the mission was with Collette being in the rehabilitation center with him.

[ One final push of searching through the bag turns up the store of chocolates. He pulls out a white paper bag tied at the top with ribbons and marked in fancy French lettering rather than a box. ]

[She accepts the bag with a smile, setting it next to her before she responds.]
